City Islanders Internship Program 2011 Season
Now accepting: Spring 2011 and Summer 2011
Full-Time, Part-Time, Game Day
The Harrisburg City Islanders feel that you will get the most out of your internship experience by being exposed to all aspects of the business. Below are some brief descriptions of different areas of the City Islanders operations that you will have the opportunity to work in. If you are interested in being part of our team this season then review the information and submit your application.
Game Day Operations All interns will be involved in game day operations which may include setting up the facility, assisting with promotions, merchandise sales, ticket sales, media relations, and providing fan and sponsor service.
Marketing/Promotions Being a community based team is a very important identity for the City Islanders and the staff, players, and mascot attempt to attend as many community events as possible. Interns are integral part of planning and executing these events.
Public/Media Relations Interns will get a first-hand look at what goes in to compiling, processing, and disseminating all of the vital stats of a professional sports team. This operation includes press releases, website administration, game notes, press conferences, interviews and gameday League requirements.
Ticket Administration / Sales Ticket Sales are the paramount objective of any professional sports organization. Interns will assist in maintaining databases, attracting groups, implementing campaigns, and servicing ticket holder accounts.
Corporate Partner Administration Interns will assist in providing our Corporate Partners with the best service possible. It is imperative that all of our Corporate Partners receive unprecedented service and beneficial returns.
Youth Soccer Programs The City Islanders Academy is growing every week in its impact on youth soccer throughout the region. Interns will assist in the further development and administration of this organization. Areas will include Academy classes, camps, Super Y League, and more.
Internship Qualifications - Undergraduate or Graduate Degree candidate - At least 18 years old - Available for most home game dates (schedule available in January) - A strong interest and passion for the business of sports - No prior experience necessary - Priority given to students that will receive credit for internship

Internship experience January thru April, 2011

3 Interns Positions Available – 6 to 9 credits each
Work with all of the following: General Manager, Director of Corporate
Sales, Academy Director and our Office Manager.
Duties include preparing and executing corporate marketing plans for next Professional Season, creating and implementing programs for the City Islanders Academy Youth Programs, assisting in office work such as customer service, answering the phones, preparing databases for all personnel, and other duties as they present themselves.
Summer Session
Internship experience May thru August, 2011
***Applications accepted September thru January, 2011***
7 Interns Positions Available – 9 to 12 Credits each
11 Game Day Interns – 3 Credits Work with all of the following: General Manager, Director of Corporate
Sales, Academy Director and our Office Manager.
Duties include preparing and executing corporate marketing plans for next Professional Season, creating and implementing programs for the City Islanders Academy Youth Programs, assisting in office work such as customer service, answering the phones, preparing databases for all personnel, and other duties as they present themselves. Game Day Inters are to work Game Days only, duties to be assigned as needs arise form each game.
