A staple of Central Pennsylvania professional soccer for nearly two decades, Mike Butala returns for his fifth season as the City Islanders’ equipment manager. Butala spent three years as equipment manager of the Hershey Impact of the AISA (1988-91), and was the only equipment manager in the 12-year history of the Harrisburg Heat of the NPSL/MISL (1991-2003).

Butala, a 13-year Air Force veteran who served two years in Vietnam, is currently the Facilities Manager at the Harrisburg Area Community College Community Center for Technology and the Arts, and acts as an Adjunct Faculty member at HACC, teaching Computer Aided Drafting, Metallurgy, and Machine Shop.

Mike and wife Pat reside in Camp Hill and have three daughters: Christy, Tammy, and Brandy. They also have three grandchildren: Abby, Michael, and Danielle.
